Our ‘Salty Seadog’ leads have a chunkier handle – made by splicing two lengths of rope together. We have many variants of our Salty Seadogs – as we can use one colour/rope or 2 different colours/ropes.
Our ‘Salty Sea Dog’ Sky Blue/Seagull Grey style lead incorporates 2 different ropes, with the Sky blue coming to halfway up the main lead and is then spliced together with the shorter Sea gull grey section of rope to form the chunkier handle.
The Sky Blue rope is part of Grandad’s retired fishing gear, used as “head” ropes and “buoy” ropes that he worked out of St Ives harbour in Cornwall. The Newlyn Seagull Grey rope has been rescued from Newlyn harbour in Cornwall – where the fisherman are working with us to save as much retired fishing gear as possible from going to landfill or incineration.
