Description

St Ives Sprat Keyrings are made from ghost gear we pick up on our beach cleans on Carbis Bay beach, St Ives in Cornwall.

This beautiful green Sprat Keyring is repurposed from our finds on our beach cleans on Carbis Bay beach. The big spring tides and north eastly winds dumped seaweed and ghost gear all along the high tide line. We don’t find much twines and ropes on Carbis Bay beach – it’s normally micro plastics – so if Carbis Bay beach is a favourite spot for you, be quick as this keyring will soon be rehomed.

Determined to use every little bit of rope that we can, to save it going to landfill or incineration, our Sprat keyrings not only help us to achieve this, but are a lovely way for people to have a little bit of Cornwall.

Each and every Sprat is individual, often incorporating finds from our beach cleans. From beads to spinners cleaned off long line ghost gear that was rescued 125 miles off Lands End by the “Stelissa” in Newlyn, through to Zennor Cove rope and Prussia Cove, each Sprat has its own story to tell.
