Description

A monkey fist is a traditional knot used by fisherman. A shore line with a monkey fist tied to the end was thrown ashore. Then the other end of the shore line still aboard the boat was tied to a heavier mooring rope to enable it to be pulled ashore.

Our Monkey Fist Keyrings have the traditional knot at one end and a spliced loop with a keyring at the other.  We have different variations of rope available and this key ring has been made with rope in Grandad’s favourite colour – “green and white or white and green”.

This product saves approx 6ft of rope from going to landfill/incineration and giving it a new lease of life.

Grandads favourite is his GWWG colour ropes. This popular rope colour was part of Grandads fishing gear from over 40 years ago that was worked out of St Ives harbour in Cornwall
