Description

A monkey fist is a traditional knot used by fisherman. A shore line with a monkey fist tied to the end was thrown ashore. Then the other end of the shore line still aboard the boat was tied to a heavier mooring rope to enable it to be pulled ashore.

Our Monkey Fist Keyrings have the traditional knot at one end and a spliced loop with a keyring at the other.

As we have different variations of rope available, we will add further product pages to the site – so watch this space!

If you love this one, you can purchase this beautiful keyring made from Grandad’s royal blue rope, which was part of his fishing gear from over 40 years ago, worked out of St Ives harbour in Cornwall.

For those who love St Ives and Cornwall, carry a little bit with you!
