This stunning version is made from ghost gear fishing rope that we rescued with the help of our friend from a cove at Zennor, one of our favourite spots on our Cornish coastline. This soft, turquoise fishing rope must have so many sea adventures to share as its been at sea a long time collecting treasures along its journey, every “Zennor” wreath will be slightly different.
The outside rope on the wreath is a retired potting rope from St Ives, we are proud to be working together with Fishermen/Fisherwomen and harbours around Cornwall to save retired fishing gear from being to be sent to landfill or incineration.
The white rope is the pesky, for ever on the move, retired fishing gear rope, rescued from Newlyn with our the help of our friends in Newlyn Harbour.
Wedged in amongst the rocks we managed to rescue and carry, the 4 stone in weight ghost gear home, untangle it, wash in fresh water and was then ready to sprinkle some Cornish Spliced magic to create this gorgeous Sea Dog traditional wreath.
Our friends at Zennor Wayside have the first of this seasons hand made Zennor wreaths on display in their beautiful local Cornish gift shop.
More will be added in here for everyone to be able to buy and have for their own or send to their love ones so they to can keep a piece of Cornwall close to them.
