We’re dreaming about our next wreath-making experience. …Cosying up in the unique SurfHouse St.Ives, on top of the Island in St Ives, with the log burner and a hot toddy to warm your cockles, whilst you learn how to repurpose discarded Cornish fishing gear into a seasonal wreath.
Cornish Spliced uses heritage splicing skills and knots to create new products to love from discarded fishing rope or ghost gear found on beach cleans – saving it from landfill/incineration or re-entering the sea.
Attendees on our wreath-making experiences learn how to make a traditional wreath that can be adorned with items to reflect each season throughout the year. From flowers in the spring, to fairy lights at Christmas, or left simply as is, your wreath will always look beautiful and have a “previous life” to tell. Made from hardy recycled rope which will survive the elements, it is also perfect for outdoor use.
Workshop experiences tend to run from 7pm-9pm, costing £45 per person (all materials and hot toddy included). They are the perfect gift for a birthday, or a special occasion for you to look forward to with friends.
Email us for more information, or to register your interest so that we can contact you about the next event. Do let us know if you’d prefer to learn wreath-making or how to splice. Or perhaps you have a different request. We’d love to show you!
